English Mountain Press started when
CEO Michele Washam found herself in
the rat race of traditional
publishing. Her now best-selling
eBook A Course in Heartbreak was the
beginning of a mission to help other
authors with excellent ideas publish
their work without all of the hassle
that comes with trying to secure a
traditional publisher.
Once published by a traditional
publisher, Michele realized that she
had done all of the hard work and
the publisher was reaping the
benefits. Talking to other authors
who felt the same way, Michele
decided to start English Mountain
Press to help authors get their work
published and marketed. This
resulted in a higher return for the
author and a great sense of
satisfaction for Michele.
Six years later, EMP now boasts a
committed team with the editorial,
marketing, and design expertise to
deliver top-notch ebook production
for our authors.
English Mountain Press publishes
ebooks exclusively and promotes
authors online. EMP partners with
authors to produce and co-publish a
limited number of nonfiction titles
that are marketed through high
traffic websites and our own
bookstores.
Our titles meet the needs of women
and families in particular.
Occasionally we publish a general
interest book (but no fiction). We
are most interested in authors who:
have established online ministries;
are launching a ministry to women;
and/or who have a growing email
contact base of at least 1,000 to
start co-marketing the book with us.
EMP’s decision to publish a work is
based on online marketability and
the author’s willingness to
aggressively market the book with
us.
